Grand Jury Clears Dale County Woman for Shooting Incident

Judge Signing on the Papers

In a recent decision, a Dale County woman, Micaela Newby, has been cleared by a grand jury after shooting a man five times at a park last year. Newby’s attorney asserts that the grand jury viewed the incident as self-defense, leading to the decision not to indict her for attempted murder. According to Newby, the man had begun to threaten her and her children while they were playing on a Midland City basketball court last February.
