As crews prepare for the opening of the National Peanut Festival later this week, organizers say visitors will notice some security upgrades this year. There will be metal detectors and a clear bag policy in place. There will also be a noticeable increase in the police presence at this year’s parade. The National Peanut Festival opens Friday.
