The Bonifay City Council swears in its new police chief. At Monday night’s meeting, interim chief Johnny Whitaker took the oath of office to be the permanent head of the department. Whitaker was appointed as interim chief after former chief Jimmy Macon was fired earlier this month. This also comes just weeks after Emil McCann resigned as mayor of Bonifay.
