The City of Elba decides to terminate their chief of police who’s been on administrative leave since June. Chief Troy Staley had been on leave since June, and although there was a protective order filed against Staley around the time of his leave, a reason for the leave was never given. Council members are expected to discuss advertising for a new chief at the city’s next meeting on August 14th.
