A Former Wiregrass Sheriff Pleads Guilty to Ethics Charges

The former Barbour County Sheriff pleads guilty to a class B felony ethics charge.   The Alabama Attorney General’s Office announced Tuesday that while he was sheriff, Leroy Upshaw deposited money from a sheriff’s office bank account to his personal account.  The $32,000 that he took was meant to support law enforcement and jail inmate care.
