Even though a bill waiting for Governor Ivey’s signature will cut the grocery sales tax in the state in half, it’s unlikely to change much in The Wiregrass. WDHN reports all 5 counties in the Wiregrass receive money from the grocery tax and if they can’t find a way to replace the revenue, will likely keep the tax in place. If the measure does pass, the first phase of the tax cut will go into effect in September.
