REHOBETH, Ala. (WDNews) — Students at Rehobeth High School now have access to hands-on welding training through a new mobile program.
According to the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the Wallace Community College Mobile Welding Unit at Rehobeth High School.
The program is a partnership between Wallace Community College, Houston County Schools and Rehobeth High School.
The mobile welding unit brings specialized training directly to students, allowing them to gain hands-on welding experience while learning about careers in the skilled trades.
The chamber said the program is designed to connect classroom learning with real-world skills and help prepare students for future workforce opportunities.
The partnership also aims to strengthen the local workforce by introducing students to skilled career options while they are still in high school.
