DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Drivers should expect lane closures and delays when an intersection improvement project begins at Main and Oates streets.
According to the city of Dothan, construction will begin Monday, Sept. 21, as part of the City Hall relocation project.
The work will include the installation of a new traffic signal and pedestrian facilities. Construction is expected to last six weeks.
Daytime lane closures are expected along Main and Oates streets Monday through Thursday, typically from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Work will begin on the northeast and northwest corners of the intersection during the week of Sept. 21.
The outside westbound lane of Main Street will close from Foster Street to just east of the new City Hall. The outside northbound lane of Oates Street will close from Crawford Street to just north of the Houston County Courthouse.
Traffic will be directed by portable message boards, arrow boards and signs. Additional lane closures will be announced as the project continues.
All commercial truck traffic should use Ross Clark Circle.
Drivers are advised to find alternate routes, expect delays and use caution in the area.
