DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Registration is back open for the Dothan Fire Department’s annual Going for the Gold 5K and Family Fun Day after an issue temporarily affected the registration page.
“Looks like we had a little snafu on our registration page! Registration is back open!” the Dothan Fire Department said Saturday.
According to the department, participants have until 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, to pre-register.
The Going for the Gold 5K will be held Saturday, Aug. 29, at 8 a.m. at Water World in Dothan.
The event is the second race in the Dothan Heroes Challenge Series and brings together runners, walkers, ruckers, first responders and other community members.
Following the race, organizers will hold the event’s first Firefighter Fire Truck Pull, followed by Family Fun Day at Water World.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Developmental Therapeutic Program for Childhood Cancer Support.
Registration is available online through Aug. 27 at 5 p.m.
