REHOBETH, Ala. (WDNews) — Drivers traveling between Rehobeth and Taylor should prepare for temporary road closures as an Alabama Department of Transportation maintenance project gets underway.
According to ALDOT, crews will begin replacing two pipes along State Route 605 on Monday, Aug. 24, weather permitting.
The work is the first part of a larger maintenance project along the SR-605 corridor. Additional pipe replacements are scheduled for later.
ALDOT said it is coordinating with the Town of Rehobeth, City of Taylor and Houston County Board of Education as crews prepare for temporary closures needed to safely complete the work.
During closures, trucks must use SR-109, U.S. 231 and SR-52. Local drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes and prepare for possible delays.
Once the entire maintenance project is finished, plans to resurface SR-605 can move forward.
Drivers are asked to stay alert for workers and equipment throughout the work zone.
