DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — According to the City of Dothan, the southbound lane of North Oates Street in the 200 block will be closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, through Friday, Aug. 7, for sidewalk construction.
City officials said contractors will be working along the sidewalk, requiring the closure of the southbound lane. Traffic cones will be in place to direct motorists through the area as needed.
The city said the sidewalk improvements are part of an effort to improve walkability in downtown Dothan.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and expect delays while traveling through the work zone.
