OZARK, Ala. (WDNews) — People interested in preparing and selling certain non-hazardous foods from their home can learn how during an upcoming Cottage Food Safety Training hosted by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
The training is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dale County Extension Office, located at 202 Alabama Highway 123 in Ozark.
The course is designed for individuals who want to sell eligible homemade foods under Alabama’s cottage food law. Participants will learn about the law, where cottage foods can be sold, labeling requirements, and basic food safety practices.
The certification fee is $25.
