Dale County, Ala (WDNews) – The Dale County Sheriff’s Office shared on Facebook that deputies recently responded to an unusual call involving a baby alligator.
The post comes after the Sheriff’s Office highlighted the rescue of Rodney the emu on Thursday, June 18.
“At this point, Dale County is one escaped velociraptor away from becoming a modern-day Jurassic Park,” the Sheriff’s Office joked.
The Sheriff’s Office also used the opportunity to recognize the many people who help make animal rescues possible. In its post about Rodney the emu, the agency thanked dispatchers, deputies, community members and a local expert for working together to ensure the bird was safely rescued and relocated.
Officials said the rescue was a reminder that it often takes a team effort to safely handle unusual situations and help animals in need.
