TROY, Ala. (WDNews) — The Troy University baseball team is headed to Omaha for the first time in program history after sweeping Little Rock in the NCAA Super Regional and securing a spot in the 2026 NCAA Men’s College World Series.
The Trojans completed the two-game sweep Saturday with a 7-2 victory over Little Rock at Riddle-Pace Field, punching their ticket to the sport’s biggest stage. Troy finished off the series after a dominant 12-2 win in Game 1 on Friday.
Saturday’s win capped off a historic weekend for the program and its fans. A crowd of 7,033 packed Riddle-Pace Field for Game 2, setting a new attendance record for the stadium and marking the largest crowd in the facility’s history. The previous attendance record had been set just one day earlier during Game 1 of the Super Regional.
The Trojans jumped out to an early lead Saturday and never looked back. Troy’s pitching staff kept Little Rock in check while the offense continued to deliver in key moments, helping secure the victory and a berth in Omaha.
The College World Series appearance marks another milestone in what has become one of the most successful seasons in Troy baseball history. The Trojans advanced through the NCAA Tournament and captured their first-ever Super Regional title to earn a spot among the final eight teams competing for a national championship.
