DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Youth softball teams from across Alabama will travel to Dothan this weekend to compete in the 2026 Alabama Recreation and Parks Association (ARPA) State Softball Tournament.
The tournament will be held June 6-7 at James Oates Park, located at 798 Campbellton Highway, and will feature teams in the 6U, 8U, 10U and 12U divisions competing for state championships.
Tournament organizers have released several reminders for players, coaches and spectators ahead of the event.
According to tournament officials, the team listed at the top of the bracket will be designated as the home team and will occupy the first-base dugout. The team listed at the bottom of the bracket will be the visiting team and will use the third-base dugout.
Officials also remind participants that gum, seeds and shelled snacks are prohibited. Food is not allowed in dugouts, and each team is limited to one team cooler. No additional coolers will be permitted.
Pets, bicycles, scooters, skates and similar items are also prohibited at the tournament venue.
The tournament is expected to bring hundreds of athletes, coaches and family members to Dothan throughout the weekend as teams compete for ARPA state titles.
Live tournament brackets are available online for each division, allowing fans to follow results throughout the weekend.
Tournament officials said they look forward to welcoming teams from across the state to Dothan and wished all participants good luck in competition.
