SARCOA Launches Santa for Seniors 2025 Holiday Program

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – The Southeast Alabama Regional Council on Aging (SARCOA) has launched its annual Santa for Seniors 2025 program, aimed at bringing gifts and companionship to low-income, homebound older adults throughout the Wiregrass region.

While the holiday season is a time of joy for many, it can also be a lonely period for seniors living alone. Santa for Seniors works to ensure no senior is forgotten by delivering gifts from their wish lists along with warm reminders that their community cares.

Each year, SARCOA partners with community members, local businesses, churches, and civic organizations to spread holiday cheer and connect with seniors who could use a little extra joy this season.

Residents can participate by sponsoring a senior’s wish list, volunteering at Santa’s Workshop to wrap and prepare gifts, or donating funds to support groceries, medical needs, and emergency assistance programs.

Wish lists are now available online at sarcoa.org/santa-for-seniors-live/.

“SARCOA encourages the Wiregrass to get involved and help light up the holiday season for seniors in our community,” said outreach coordinator Ashley Brown.
