DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – A section of the paved Westgate Bike Trail alongside the Westgate BMX Track will close from Thursday, September 18, through Sunday, September 21, to accommodate the Circle City BMX event.
During the closure, bicycle traffic will be rerouted to the parallel Westgate Walking Trail to ensure safe access for riders. The affected portion of the trail will reopen on Monday, September 22.
City officials expressed appreciation for public cooperation during the closure. “We appreciate the public’s cooperation and understanding as we support this exciting community event,” the Department of Leisure Services stated.
