HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDNews) – The clock is ticking for residents who want to vote in the Alabama municipal election on August 25.
The deadline to register is Monday, August 11, 2025 — just one week away.
Eligible citizens can register online using a valid Alabama driver license by visiting the Alabama Votes website. Voter registration forms can also be submitted by mail or in person to your county’s Board of Registrars.
To vote in Alabama, you must be a U.S. citizen, reside in Alabama, and be at least 18 years old by Election Day. Individuals with disqualifying felony convictions or those declared mentally incompetent by a court are not eligible.
Polls on August 26 will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and all voters must present a valid photo ID.
Approved IDs include:
- Alabama driver license (valid or expired less than 60 days)
- Alabama digital license or nondriver ID
- U.S. passport or military ID
- Valid student or employee ID from a college or university
- Valid tribal ID or voter ID card
