DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Officers with the Dothan Police Department will trade their badges for aprons on Tuesday, July 22, as they participate in the statewide Tip-A-Cop fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse, located at 3730 Montgomery Highway. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
As part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Alabama, local officers will volunteer as guest servers, collecting tips and donations to benefit Special Olympics athletes across the state.
The Special Olympics Alabama program offers year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Donations raised through Tip-A-Cop help provide vital resources and opportunities that promote inclusion, confidence, and achievement in the lives of participating athletes.
Organizers invite the community to enjoy a meal and support the cause, noting that every dollar raised stays local to help fund athletic programming.
