Dothan United loses to Asheville City 4-0

Dothan United were looking to get back in the win column against Asheville City on the road Saturday night. Asheville City did not get the memo and defeated the Dragons 4-0 for their second consecutive loss. The Dragons spent most of the game shorthanded due to two red cards. That forced an 11 on 9 advantage for a majority of the game. It made it very difficult for the Dragons to find many openings for scoring opportunities. Dothan United were sure to enter the match with confidence after playing to a 0-0 draw against Asheville City on June 8th at Rip Hewes Stadium.

Asheville City got on the scoreboard early with a goal by striker Sebastian Tregarthen at the six minute mark. The Dragons played well defensively for the remainder of the first half, but Carson Wood made the match 2-0 just before halftime. The second red card of the match resulted in goalkeeper Yago Darub exiting and was replaced by Jourdan Schumacher for the rest of the evening.

At close to the 60 minute mark Naz Astwood added a goal to make it 3-0. The final score for Asheville City came in the final minutes when Lewis Johnson scored with two Dragons in his way to make it 4-0 and that was the final. The loss puts Dothan United at 3-4-2 and Asheville City sits on top of the south central division with a record of 7-0-1. The Dragons will be back at home Saturday (June 29th) when they host Birmingham FC.
