Dothan United and Asheville City Ends with 0-0 Tie

DOTHAN, Ala (WDNews) – After being on the road for three consecutive games, Dothan United returned home at Rip Hewes Stadium to host Asheville City. The game presented a big test for the Dragons with Asheville City holding the top record. Both teams played tough defense and that resulted in a 0-0 draw between to two teams.

Dothan dominated the ball most of the first half, and had several chances at scoring opportunities. The script was flipped in the second half with the Dragons being more on the defensive. Asheville City controlled the ball, but Dothan United stood tough and kept them off the scoreboard. Goalkeeper Yago Darub was the star of the game for the Dragons not allowing a goal.

Saturday night was the second time this season that the Dragons held their opponent without a score. Earlier this season, Dothan United had a 0-0 draw with Southern Soccer Academy. With this result the Dragons are now 3-2-2 with 11 points. Asheville City still remains in first place in the South Central with a record of 5-0-1. The Dragons next game will be on Friday when they host Atletico Orlando SC at Rip Hewes Stadium.
