DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — A longtime member of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office is preparing to retire after 25 years of service.
According to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Capt. James Ivey will officially retire Oct. 1, 2026.
“Please join us in congratulating Captain James Ivey on his retirement!” the sheriff’s office said.
Officials thanked Ivey for his years of service to the department and the community.
“We thank him for his dedication to our office and the people of Houston County,” the sheriff’s office said.
The department also wished Ivey well as he begins his retirement.
“Congratulations, Captain Ivey! We wish you all the best in retirement.”
