CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WDNews) — A traffic stop in Crestview led to a fentanyl trafficking arrest after an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office K9 alerted deputies to a vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to OCSO, K9 Deputy Downing and K9 Vojak conducted a free-air sniff around the vehicle during the traffic stop Monday morning. Deputies said Vojak gave a positive alert.
A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 18 grams of suspected fentanyl and 7 grams of suspected cocaine, according to OCSO. Deputies also reported finding a digital scale, plastic baggies and drug paraphernalia.
The sheriff’s office said the suspected fentanyl and cocaine produced presumptive positive results during field testing.
Timothy Lowe was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl, more than 4 grams; possession with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Okaloosa County jail records provided by the sheriff’s office also show Lowe was booked on three charges, including trafficking in fentanyl of 4 grams or more.
“The investigation remains ongoing,” OCSO said.
