DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Dothan City Schools is increasing security at three schools following recent online rumors of violence circulating in the community.
According to Dothan City Schools, the rumors involve Dothan 6th Grade Center, Dothan High School and Carver 9th Grade Academy.
“We take all threats seriously and are working closely with local law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and schools,” the district said.
As a precaution, additional School Resource Officers will be at all three schools while investigations are conducted to determine the source of the threat.
“The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority,” the district said.
Dothan City Schools is asking anyone with information to contact their school or local law enforcement.
