ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDNews) — The Enterprise Police Department is highlighting two community efforts aimed at supporting Special Olympics athletes and helping children during times of crisis.
Through recent Tip-a-Cop events at White Oak and The Butcher’s Daughter, officers helped raise $3,766.35 for Special Olympics Coffee, Dale and Geneva counties.
During the events, community members were able to tip participating officers, with the money going toward Special Olympics programs and athletes in the three counties.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out, tipped our officers, and helped us support the amazing athletes of Special Olympics,” the department said. “This is what happens when law enforcement and our community come together for a great cause!”
The department also recently received a donation from Jenna Kate Weeks, Miss Enterprise 2026.
Weeks donated stuffed animals for officers to give to children they encounter during emergencies or other difficult situations.
Police said the stuffed animals can offer children comfort and reassurance when they may be experiencing fear or uncertainty.
“We are so thankful for her thoughtfulness and for choosing to make a difference in the lives of children in our community,” the department said.
The Enterprise Police Department thanked residents for continuing to support local law enforcement and community causes.
