DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Professional wrestling is headed to Dothan for two nights of nationally televised action this fall.
According to the City of Dothan Performing Arts Department, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling will bring TNA IMPACT! on AMC to the Dothan Civic Center on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The two nights will feature television tapings with TNA’s roster of professional wrestlers and matches that will later be seen by audiences across the country on AMC.
“We’ve been working on this for months, and we’re incredibly excited to finally announce it,” City of Dothan Performing Arts Director Clay Dempsey said. “Dothan has a rich wrestling history. In a lot of ways, wrestling is in our DNA as much as peanuts are. There are generations of people throughout the Wiregrass who grew up watching wrestling here, and being able to bring a nationally televised wrestling production back to the Civic Center is special.”
According to the city, the television production will also give Dothan an opportunity for national exposure.
“National television productions allow us to showcase Dothan to people and organizations that may not know our city or what we have to offer,” Dempsey added. “Every time we successfully host an event of this scale, we’re showing other promoters, producers, and touring organizations that Dothan is a market they should be looking at. That’s important as we continue building what comes next.”
Doors will open at 6 p.m. both nights, with the action beginning at 7 p.m.
An exclusive Dothan venue presale begins Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. CT with the presale code DOTHAN. Tickets go on sale to the general public Thursday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. CT.
Match announcements and additional event information are expected to be released as October approaches.
