DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Dothan City Schools students will continue to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost during the 2026-2027 school year.
According to Dothan City Schools, the district will continue participating in the Community Eligibility Provision, known as CEP, through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs.
Under the program, all enrolled students can receive school meals at no charge. Parents and guardians do not have to submit a meal application or take any additional action.
CEP allows eligible schools and districts to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students without collecting individual household applications.
Dothan City Schools said breakfast and lunch will follow U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals and encouraged students to participate.
“Children need healthy meals to learn,” the district said.
The district also stated, “In the operation of child feeding programs, no child will be discriminated against because of race, sex, color, national origin, age or disability.”
