WIREGRASS (WDNews) — Four farmers from the Wiregrass and surrounding area have been elected to the Alabama Farmers Federation State Bee & Honey Committee.
James Garner of Dale County, Tyler Walker of Geneva County, Davis McLaughlin of Houston County and Sidney McKathan of Covington County were elected Aug. 6 during the Federation’s 2026 Farm & Land Conference in Mobile.
The committee helps guide the work of the Alabama Farmers Federation’s Bee & Honey Division.
State commodity committee members help direct policy for the Federation, which is the state’s largest farm organization. Members also help allocate research dollars and coordinate educational sessions for fellow farmers.
