DALEVILLE, Ala. (WDNews) — A reported lightning strike sparked a house fire Wednesday night on Plaza Drive in Daleville.
According to multiple reports and witnesses, lightning struck the home at approximately 10 p.m. as storms moved through the area.
The home was reportedly unoccupied at the time because it was undergoing renovations.
The house is located in a residential area with other homes nearby.
Details remain limited. It is not known at this time if anyone was injured, if the fire has been contained or how much damage was caused.
From what WDNews observed at the scene, large flames could be seen coming from the home. Witnesses at the scene said the homeowners appeared to have lost everything in the fire.
