DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — According to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, a Wicksburg man has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged purchase and electronic transmission of child sexual abuse material.
The sheriff’s office said it received the case on July 10 after it was originated by the Dale County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators were acting on a tip from the International Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force indicating that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) was being purchased and transmitted electronically.
According to the release, investigators with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants on July 20 at a residence in the 6800 block of Judge Logue Road in the Wicksburg community and another residence in the 100 block of 4th Street in Midland City.
Christopher Cole Hilson, 23, of Wicksburg, was arrested and charged with four counts of Attempted Dissemination/Display of Child Pornography. He was booked into the Houston County Jail and is being held on bonds totaling $45,000.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing.
