ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDNews) — Hillcrest Elementary is asking families to prepare for a new traffic pattern during student drop-off and pick-up as the new school year approaches.
School officials said the updated traffic pattern is designed to improve the flow of vehicles while placing the highest priority on the safety of students, walkers, families and crossing guards.
The new layout is intended to create a more predictable traffic flow and limit certain turning movements during arrival and dismissal. Officials said those changes are expected to reduce potential conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians, making it safer for students arriving by car or on foot.
The revised traffic pattern will also allow crossing guards to more safely assist students and families as they cross the roadway.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to pay close attention to the new traffic pattern, follow posted signs, and allow extra travel time during the first few days of school as everyone adjusts to the changes.
School officials said the new traffic plan is aimed at creating a safer and more efficient arrival and dismissal process for everyone at Hillcrest Elementary.
