HEADLAND, Ala. (WDNews) — A Headland native has returned to the Wiregrass to begin serving patients as the newest physician at Headland Family Medicine.
Dr. Haley Roberts, a Turner Medical Scholar, recently joined the practice after completing her family medicine residency at Cahaba UAB Family Medicine in Birmingham, where she served as chief resident.
“Joining Headland Family Medicine is a wonderful opportunity to continue doing what I am most passionate about: caring for patients and building meaningful relationships that support long-term health and wellness. I look forward to working with the Headland community and becoming a trusted healthcare resource for local families,” Dr. Roberts said.
Roberts graduated from Providence Christian School in Dothan before earning a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Birmingham-Southern College in 2019. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the UAB Heersink School of Medicine in 2023 and completed her residency in 2026.
According to the release, Roberts was awarded the Turner Medical Scholarship, which supports medical school education for M.D. candidates from Alabama’s Wiregrass counties.
She joins her father, Dr. Niel Rasmussen, and physician assistant Ramona Bolin as part of the provider team at Headland Family Medicine.
“This feels like a full-circle moment,” Dr. Roberts said. “The Wiregrass community helped make my dream of becoming a physician possible, and there is no greater privilege than returning home to care for the people and families who invested in my future. I am honored to serve this community and hope to make a lasting impact on the lives of my patients for years to come.”
According to the release, Dr. Roberts is accepting new patients.
