DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — At approximately 1:25 p.m. Monday, the Dothan Fire Department responded to the 800 block of South Edgewood Drive after initial reports of a house fire.
According to initial reports, heavy smoke and flames were visible when firefighters arrived. Crews immediately went to work attacking the fire and ventilating the structure. Three fire engines responded to the scene.
It is currently unknown whether the home was occupied at the time of the fire, although it appears to be lived in.
No information has been released regarding any injuries or what may have caused the fire.
South Edgewood Drive is completely closed as firefighters continue working at the scene. Motorists are urged to avoid the area until the roadway is reopened.
