DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Families are invited to attend the Back-to-School Bash today at the Alfred Saliba Family Services Center in Dothan.
The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the center, located at 301 W. Lafayette St.
Children who attend will be eligible to receive free book bags and school supplies while supplies last. Organizers remind families that children must be present to receive the giveaway items.
The event will also feature information booths from each department within the Alfred Saliba Family Services Center, giving families the opportunity to learn about programs and services available in the community.
Departments participating include Early Head Start, Work Plus, Intake Services, HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) and the Career Center. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide information on educational programs, employment assistance, family support services and community resources.
The Back-to-School Bash is free and open to the public and is designed to help students and families prepare for the upcoming school year.
