DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — First responders and emergency personnel will have the opportunity to strengthen their leadership and incident management skills during a free training event scheduled for next month in Dothan.
Education Is Key, in partnership with the Dothan Fire Department, will host its inaugural Incident Command Course on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at the Wiregrass Public Safety Center.
The full-day classroom course will feature Battalion Chief (Ret.) Mickey Tofexis, who will provide instruction on leadership, tactical decision-making, and the core principles of effective incident command. The training is designed to help participants improve their ability to manage emergency scenes, make critical decisions under pressure, and lead response operations safely and efficiently.
Registration for the course is free, and lunch will be provided for all attendees. Space is limited to the first 50 participants, and organizers encourage those interested to register early to secure a seat.
