DOTHAN, Ala. — According to initial reports, at approximately 5:35 p.m., emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of South Oates Street near Saunders Road.
The vehicle came to rest in a ditch after rolling over an unknown amount of times. Two small wood line fires were also reported and were quickly extinguished. The vehicle itself did not catch fire. Multiple people stopped to assist putting out the fires. Occupants were transported to a local hospital.
It was reported that a power pole had been struck, leaving the traffic signal at the intersection without power. Several nearby businesses were also reported to be without electricity, including Southside Walmart and businesses in that area.
Northbound Traffic is down to one lane for an unknown amount of time and traffic is going slow.
The cause of the crash has not been released. No information on severity of injuries is available.
