DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — An adult male remains in critical condition after an early morning shooting in Dothan, according to the Dothan Police Department.
Police said officers and personnel with Dothan Fire and Rescue responded at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 4, to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of Hutchins Street.
According to Dothan Police, first responders found an adult male lying in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Emergency medical aid was provided at the scene before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim had recently left a small gathering and was walking home when the shooting occurred.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Investigators are currently attempting to identify and locate multiple individuals who may have information relevant to this incident.”
