HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WDNews) — A Holmes County man has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving juveniles, according to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said investigators began looking into allegations involving Dustin Collins after multiple victims came forward with corroborating statements alleging Collins engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with them while they were juveniles.
According to the sheriff’s office, the findings of the investigation were presented to the State Attorney’s Office. Based on the evidence, along with statements from the victims and the suspect, a judge signed arrest warrants charging Collins with:
Sexual Battery on a Child
Human Trafficking
According to investigators, the human trafficking charge stems from evidence alleging Collins sent messages to juveniles offering money or other compensation in exchange for sexual acts.
Collins was arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail.
The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active and ongoing, and investigators believe there may be additional victims or individuals with information related to the case.
