DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — According to initial reports, emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 11:07 a.m. Sunday to a crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist near the intersection of West Main Street and Buckingham Road in Dothan.
Initial reports indicated the bicyclist suffered a head injury and was conscious and alert. Reports also indicated the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
When first responders arrived on scene, initial reports indicated the bicycle was underneath the vehicle involved in the collision.
Emergency medical personnel requested a trauma alert, and a local hospital was placed on emergency status during the patient’s transport.
The extent of the bicyclist’s injuries has not been officially released. No additional information about the circumstances surrounding the crash was immediately available.
