OZARK, Ala. (WDNews) — Residents will have a chance to see live birds of prey up close when the Auburn University Raptor Show comes to the Ozark Civic Center later this month.
According to event organizers, the Dale County Farmer’s Federation, Farm-City Committee, Dale County Extension and Dale County 4-H are bringing the educational program to Ozark for one day only on June 26.
The show will feature a variety of live raptors, including owls, hawks and eagles. Organizers say the presentation is educational in nature and will last approximately one hour.
Two shows are scheduled, with the first beginning at 9 a.m. and a second presentation at 10 a.m. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The arena will be cleared between shows.
Organizers noted that the event will serve as the concluding celebration for several youth summer camps.
Because the birds are live hunting animals, attendees must follow all Ozark Civic Center rules, including policies regarding animals, food, beverages and noisemakers. Anyone violating the rules may be asked to leave to help ensure the safety of guests and the birds.
The event will be held June 26 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Ozark Civic Center. Those planning to attend are encouraged to register in advance.
