Headland, Ala. (WDNews) — Law enforcement agencies across the Wiregrass are warning the public about counterfeit “Origami Folding Notes” that are being circulated and mistaken for real money.

According to community alerts shared in the area, the folded paper items are not legitimate U.S. currency and may resemble cash at first glance. Authorities said the notes are often folded in origami style and may include wording such as “Origami Folding Note” printed across the top.

Officials say the items are designed for creative folding or novelty purposes and should not be used as legal tender.

Law enforcement advises anyone who receives one of the counterfeit-style notes to contact local authorities immediately and avoid attempting to use it as real currency.
