Update: 8pm, According to AL.com no fatalities occurred in the Lifesaver 5 helicopter crash and the Federal Aviation Administration will be taking over the investigation.
EVERGREEN, Ala. (WDNews) At approximately 3:12 p.m., Evergreen Fire and Rescue responded to a reported helicopter crash on South Main Street in Conecuh County.
According to Evergreen Fire and Rescue, the roadway from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Evergreen Medical Center will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time while crews continue working the scene.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. No additional information has been released. Updates will be provided as they become available.
