DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Families across the Wiregrass are invited to gather for the 3rd Annual Spring Fling on April 18 at Solomon Park as part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The free event begins at 2 p.m. and runs through 5 p.m. at Solomon Park, located at 1815 Choctaw St. in DOTHAN. Hosted by the Child Advocacy Center of Southeast Alabama, the afternoon is focused on strengthening families and raising awareness about child abuse prevention.
Organizers say the event is designed to help children identify trusted adults while encouraging the community to recognize and prevent child abuse.
Families can enjoy live music, food trucks and bounce houses, along with booths featuring local nonprofits that work year-round to support children and families.
Community leaders say the goal is simple — plant seeds of hope, build stronger connections and create a place where every child feels safe and supported.
The Spring Fling is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to bring friends and spend the afternoon connecting with others who are committed to protecting children in the Wiregrass.
