Dothan, Ala. (WDNews) – The Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at the Dothan Civic Center.
The hearing concerns the proposed renewal, modification, and variance for the Solid Waste Disposal Facility Permit for the City of Dothan Sanitary Landfill (Permit 35-06).
The purpose of the hearing is to give the public an opportunity to share input, either by speaking at the hearing or submitting written comments. Comments must directly address the proposed permit, how the department is applying environmental regulations, or any factors affecting the city’s ability to meet state and federal environmental standards.
All public feedback must include technically substantial information relevant to the proposed changes in order to be considered in the final decision.
