ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDNews) — Main Street Enterprise brought home five awards at the 2025 Main Street Alabama Awards of Excellence, held Thursday in Jasper. The annual conference highlights downtown revitalization, historic preservation, and community engagement efforts across the state.
Enterprise was recognized for projects that honor its history while promoting growth downtown:
- Excellence in Signage/Wayfinding — The Rawls Restaurant Signage restoration, a $47,000 project led by the Gay family and Patrick Walding of Brand Builder Signs, based on a 1936 photo of the building.
- Excellence in Building Design (Non-Historic) — Par & Pour Indoor Golf and Cocktail Venue, which transformed a former antique store and lot into an entertainment destination with golf simulators, a cocktail lounge, and outdoor community space.
- Excellence in Business Promotion — Gilmore Girls Downtown Crawl, created by Sixtel Bottle & Growler House, which grew into eight events featuring 14 businesses and drawing more than 320 attendees.
- Excellence in Promotion — Nook @ Night Concert Series, a summer event that activated a new public space with live music, food, and local vendors.
- Main Street Hero — Lila Faulk, honored for her leadership as a student worker who guided the program during a five-month absence of a director.
“These awards are a true reflection of the energy, creativity, and passion that our business owners, community members, and volunteers bring to downtown Enterprise,” Mayor William E. Cooper said.
Main Street Enterprise Director Lily McDaniel added that the recognition showcases the teamwork of volunteers, businesses, and city leaders, all working to make downtown a walkable, historic environment for residents and visitors.
