DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — The Dothan Police Department has announced the next session of its Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) course, a free self-defense class designed for women and girls ages 12 and older.
The 12-hour course will be held over two Saturdays, August 9 and August 16, 2025, at the Wiregrass Public Safety Center, located at 100 Public Safety Way in Dothan. Class runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with a one-hour break for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.
Participants will learn practical techniques to defend themselves in various situations, from verbal confrontations to physical aggression. The course also includes discussions on personal safety and awareness, with an emphasis on empowering women of all ages and abilities.
