Undercover Operation Busts Two for Meth Trafficking

BONIFAY, FL (WDNews)– In a swift and coordinated effort on July 1, 2024, the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, with help from the Bonifay Police Department, conducted a successful undercover operation aimed at methamphetamine trafficking.

The sting took place at an undisclosed location in Bonifay, where undercover investigators set up to catch drug transactions in the act.

Desiree Fielding was the first to arrive, purchasing 17 grams of meth from an undercover officer. She was immediately arrested after the deal.

Not long after, Herschel Thomas showed up and bought 24 grams of meth at the same spot. He too was quickly taken into custody. A search revealed an additional small amount of meth in his pocket.

Both Fielding and Thomas face charges of methamphetamine trafficking and are currently held at the Holmes County Jail.

“This operation is a testament to the effective collaboration between the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office and the Bonifay Police Department,” stated Sheriff Tate. “Our ongoing efforts to combat the distribution and sale of illegal narcotics are crucial in maintaining the safety and well-being of our community.”
