Mass Shooting Injures 13 in Montgomery AL at a Large Party

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WDNews) – Thirteen people were injured in a mass shooting at a crowded party in Montgomery overnight. The incident took place near North Pass Road and Alabama River Parkway, with police and fire medics arriving just after 1:45 a.m. on Sunday.

In a joint news conference Sunday afternoon, Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed and Acting Police Chief John Hall, along with ATF officials addressed the horrific incident.

Authorities reported that nine people were shot, including three juveniles, fortunately only sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. A woman and a boy were transported to the hospital directly from the scene, while three men, two women, and two other young boys arrived at the hospital by a private vehicle before first responders arrived. Additionally, four more people sought treatment at the emergency room later.

Mayor Reed disclosed that over 300 rounds were fired during the shooting. No suspects or motives have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
