Marianna: Stolen Vehicle Recovered, Missing Person Located

Jackson County, FL (WDNews) – Early Saturday morning, June 15, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were alerted to a break-in and vehicle theft. The incident occurred around 7:35 a.m. when a resident reported their shed had been broken into and their vehicle stolen.

A “Be On the Lookout” (BOLO) alert was swiftly issued for the stolen vehicle. By 10:30 a.m., authorities received a tip that the stolen vehicle had fled from a traffic accident near Firestone in Marianna. Deputies, along with units from the Marianna Police Department, launched a search for the vehicle.

Within minutes, law enforcement located and stopped the stolen vehicle just outside the Marianna city limits. The driver was identified as Jennifer Lashae Speights, who had been reported missing the previous night.

Speights was arrested on charges of Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure. She is also facing additional charges from the Marianna Police Department.

The swift response from the deputies and police ensured the recovery of the stolen vehicle and the safe return of the missing individual.
