Eufaula Man Arrested for Alleged Doxing of Law Enforcement Officer

EUFAULA, Ala (WDNews) On June 1, 2024, John Robert Grubbs, 46, of Eufaula, was arrested for his alleged involvement in posting personal information about a law enforcement officer online. He faces charges of doxing under Alabama Code 13A-11-38.

Doxing, as defined by Alabama law, involves the intentional electronic publication of personal identifying information of a law enforcement officer, firefighter, or public servant with the intent for others to use that information to harass, harm, or impede the individual’s duties. For the charge to hold, the affected officer, firefighter, or public servant must actually experience harassment, harm, or an impediment to performing their governmental function.

Grubbs has since been released on bond. It is important to note that all individuals arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
